It turns out that driving a boat is NOTHING like driving a car, even though the boat salesman might tell a different tale, and that means that you have to take some time to learn – not only the “rules of the road,” but also what it actually feels like to drive a boat.
It also isn’t something that you can learn at “YouTube University,” either. If you are wanting to be a safe and confident boater, you must actually sit behind the wheel, and experience current, wind, and put some time in.
Boat Safely’s captain Tyler offers his boating boot camp can help build the foundation that will help you on your journey to making sure every time you hit the water, you are building skill and keeping you, your family, and other boaters safe.
You can choose from private customized lessons, our US Powerboating 16 hour certification course (Which allows you to rent boats in up to 30 countries) and any or all of the 4 National Safe Boating Council modules.
Over the course of the various programs offered by Boat Safely you will learn several aspects of actual “precision boating,” including the basics of anchoring, planing, and understanding markers, plus emergency operations like man overboard drills and emergency stops. You will also gain skills like departing and arriving at a dock, spring lining, trailering, crabbing, and other techniques that are necessary to get in and out of a marina.
